Dan Gillmor of the San Jose Mercury News is tired of all the spin, tired of all the careful, boring news out there, so he just made up some news. Or did he?
Remember all the strongly worded warnings from PC manufacturers not up attempt the Windows 98 upgrade until drivers and BIOS upgrades are released? Well don't expect to see many more of those. Microsoft is strong-arming its licensees into retracting the warnings, and many vendors have removed them, from their web sites, even though the necessary patches are not yet available.
According to Wired News, there will be a meeting of Linux hotshots (including Linus Torvalds) tomorrow to discuss Linux's future in the business world. It's at the convention center in Santa Clara, California. There is no admission charge.
