Yesterday, OS News attended the Sun Microsystems ISP conference in San Francisco. Sun's latest foray into bringing its network computing vision into reality is realigning traditional ISPs as commerce service providers and application service providers, allowing ISPs with professionality managed servers to aid smaller businesses in outsourcing some types of business applications. The Debian ARM Project has ported the Debian Linux distribution to the ARM architecture used in the new Corel Netwinder. Other ARM hardware support will follow.
Slashdot published a letter from an anonymous IBM employee about the possibility of IBM supporting Linux.
