Jesse Berst is asking the question Could Linux Kill Windows NT? Though maybe not quite ready for mainstream prime time, recent corporate support of Linux by Netscape, Corel, IBM, and now Sun Microsystems could make it a reality. Berst has some ideas on three relatively easy steps that could leverage Linux's current technical superiority into marketplace dominance. Do you agree?
Mirocode Solutions has released Fusion, a Macintosh emulator for PCs. Macintouch has some reader feedback. The big stumbling block for Mac emulators is the proprietary ROM. This software lets you extract the ROM from your old hardware and store it in software. Speed is good, according to the Macintouch reader. Now if they can just figure out how to get the Mac OS to run natively on the Intel hardware.
